Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 17: The KHADC CEM, P S Syiem , Dy CEM P N Syiem and members of Executive Committee, KHADC today paid a courtesy visit on the Governor of Meghalaya, at Raj Bhavan here.
During the meeting, the Governor was briefed about the council’s functions and responsibilities as outlined in the sixth schedule of the Constitution of India. The CEM also provided the Hon’ble Governor with details about the 54 Elakas/Himas within the council’s jurisdiction, including details about the Syiemship, Lyngdohship, Sidarship, and Wahadadarship, along with their respective duties and functions.
The CEM and his team conveyed their thanks and gratitude to the Governor for his support and for approving the Khasi Hills Autonomous District (Establishment, Management, and Control of Markets) (Second Amendment) Regulation Act, 2021 and other bills passed by the KHADC.
Additionally, the CEM, representing the Executive Committee, extended an invitation to the Governor to visit the council, with a formal invitation set to be sent shortly.
