Tura(Meghalaya), July 2: Following a complaint that was made by the Achik Holistic Awakening Movement (AHAM) to Prime Minister, Narendra Modi, the Delhi Police have sought a thorough investigation into the death of two people from the Garo community from the state of Nagaland.
Earlier the additional chief secretary and chief resident commissioner of Nagaland, Jyoti Kalash, had also written to the ADC of Special Police Unit for NER of Delhi asking that the matter be probed as the deaths were mysterious.
Rose Sangma and her nephew, Samuel Sangma died within 2 days of each other with one succumbing to what is being suspected to be incorrect treatment and the other a murder that has been put forward as a suicide by Haryana police authorities.
Similarly various social organizations as well as political parties across lines have raised their voice on the incident, calling the same dangerous for residents of the North East Region that live in various cities across the country for work or education.
In a letter addressed to the deputy commissioner of police, South West district of New Delhi, Hibu Tamang, the Additional Commissioner of Police for SPUNER, mentioned the complaint put forward by Champion Sangma led AHAM, in seeking a probe into the matter.
A detailed report on the deaths and action taken report is to be submitted to the Additional Chief Secretary along with a copy to the office of Hibu Tamang.
The letter to the deputy commissioner of police was sent yesterday, July 1.
