Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Nov 24 : Fresh Tension continues in Shillong after unknown miscreants torched a traffic booth in the Shillong Civil Hospital junction here .
A city bus was also attacked by miscreants with the intention of burning it down.
The miscreants hurled stones and petrol bombs at police forces deployed in the area .
According to police sources , 2 police vehicles, including a gypsy, were damaged in the incident.
Earlier on Nov 22, a vehicle bearing registration number AS 01 DK 5958 was torched by unknown miscreants in Jhalupara area here leading to a chaotic situation in the area as the driver of the vehicle made a run for his life.
The state government has decided to extend the suspension on mobile internet and data for another forty eight hours after violence broke out in capital city Shillong on Thursday. The suspension has been imposed in seven districts, an official statement said .
The suspension that began on 10.30am on Nov 22 has been extended for another forty eight hours in the districts West Jaintia Hills, East Jaintia Hills, East Khasi Hills, Ri – Bhoi, Eastern West Khasi Hills, West Khasi Hills, and South West Khasi Hills Districts.
It may be recalled that on Nov 22, six persons, including five from Meghalaya and a personnel of Assam Forest Guard, were killed in the firing incident at Mukroh area of West Jaintia Hills district of Meghalaya.
