Shillong ( Meghalaya ),Aug 16 : The curfew is Shillong agglomeration has been extended till Aug 18 amid reports of violence despite imposition of curfew .
On Sunday night, unidentified miscreants hurled 2 petrol bombs at the residence of Chief Minister Conrad Sangma situated at Upper Shillong . T
The was no report of any damage as the the Chief Minister is residing in a separate complex .
On Monday ,a CRPF vehicle was attacked by protesters in Shillong amid curfew.
The incident took place in Mawlai area of Shillong during curfew hours forcing security forces to resort to mild force for dispersing the crowd.
On receipt of reports of a large number of youths burning tyres in the middle of the road in Mawlai area, CRPF personnel rushed to the area.
The miscreants pelted stones at their vehicle, prompting the personnel to use mild force to disperse the crowd,.
A vehicle belonging to Mawphor Khasi daily was damaged and its driver suffered injuries during lathi charge by CRPF jawans.
Meanwhile, five companies of central forces are arriving in Shillong on Monday .
According to sources ,three companies of CRPF and two companies of BSF will be deployed at specific areas to contain the violence .
