Imphal(Manipur),May 9 : Manipur recorded the highest single day death toll with 15 deaths on Sunday, taking the death toll to 476. As many as 579 fresh cases were reported out of the 3164 test results received.
The number of active cases has now surged to 4280 (General Population – 4105 and Central Security Personnel – 175). At present there are 2,615 active cases on home isolation.
571 persons (307 male and 264 female) from general population and 8 personnel from Central Armed Police Force (CAPF) were confirmed as new COVID19 positive cases in the past twenty-four hours, according to the Health Department.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal West (197), Imphal East (191), Thoubal (42), Churachandpur (40), Kakching (37), Bishnupur (34), Kangpokpi (8), Ukhrul (6), Tengnoupal (5), Kamjong (3), Noney (3), Senapati (2), Tamenglong (2), and Chandel (1).
As many as 135 persons were discharged during the last 24 hours from CAPF (9), Home Isolation (89), RIMS (9), RD Wing (12). RAJMED (4), Churachandpur (4), BB (1). SHRI (6) and Bishnupur (1). The recovery rate of the state is 86.54 %.
The cumulative number of positive cases has now reached 35,354 (General Population 31,696 and Central Security Personnel 3,658).
According to the Health Department, in the last 24 hours, a total of 1036 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 333 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur.
As per the latest information as many as 2,66,081 individuals have been vaccinated in the state, out of which 75,616 have received the second dose.
Air passengers who travelled to the state on May 7, 2021 by Indigo flights (i) 6E-2615 in rows 8-20 (ii) 6E-6358 in rows 1-4 have been instructed to inform the Common Covid Control Room 1800-345-3818 or respective District Surveillance Officers (DSO) for further surveillance and necessary testing.
