Shillong (Meghalaya ) , June 14 : A one – day convergence camp was organized at Madan Bitaw village today, 14th June 2024.The event was attended by Synshar Lyngdoh, MLA Sohiong Constituency as the Chief Guest and C J K Warjri, BDO, Sohiong Block as the Guest of Honour in the presence of 23-line departments from the Block and District with a total of 77 participants.
Highlighting on the importance of having a vision and holistic planning, Synshar Lyngdoh, encouraged the village members to pro-actively participate in varied programmes facilitated by different line departments to realize the optimum benefits from the services and support provided by the government.
Lyngdoh, further applauded the village leaders and community members on developing an inclusive and all-round development plan through the extensive prioritized list of demands in the Development Status Report (DSR).
Calling upon all the line departments under the Sohiong Block, C J K Warjri, BDO, iterated on the 3 rd rank of Sohiong Block among all Blocks in East Khasi Hills District, inviting the collective participation of community stakeholders and line departments to improve the over-all sectors backed by a dedicated and visionary local representative to uplift the area in all undertakings.
Elaborating on the ‘School of Practice through the Hub & Spoke Model’ nurtured by CRISP and the BDO’s office, Dr. Minnette Ireen Passah, State Lead, CRISP, highlighted on the prospect of building local capacities to develop robust Village Level Development Plans (VLDP) to enable villages in Meghalaya to avail optimal benefits from all government schemes, subsidies, trainings, programs and other assistance on the basis of the detailed prioritizations.
The camp facilitated an active and enabling inter-face between the different line departments with the community members who positively encouraged them to reach out with their needs and demands and uplift developmental activities in all sectors for the village. Apart from the government departments, the event received the participation of other agencies viz. – Smart Village Movement (SVM) and Jan Shikshan Sansthan (JSS).
