Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 21 : The Public Works Department (Building) today, Dec 21 informed that the construction of the Shillong Engineering College at the premises of Shillong Polytechnic at Mawlai here will be completed by March 2022.
This was disclosed by the Engineers of the PWD after a joint inspection along with members of the Federation of Khasi Jaintia and Garo People (FKJGP) , the principal consultant and the builder .
Speaking to the media, PWD Road Executive Engineer, Ransom Sutnga expressed deep appreciation to the present builder who could speed up the construction work from forty percent to ninety percent.
Sutnga also said that all the specialized work like tiles and fixing of aluminum window frames are being done by the local labourers.
He said with the completion of the construction of the Engineering College, a large number of passed out polytechnic students can pursue their Engineering studies in this college.
