Shillong (Meghalaya), July 30: C. H. Vijayashankar was officially sworn in today as the new Governor of Meghalaya at a solemn ceremony held at Raj Bhavan, here.
The oath of office was administered by Chief Justice S. Vaidyanathan of the Meghalaya High Court.
The ceremony was attended by a distinguished gathering, including the Chief Minister of Meghalaya, members of the cabinet, senior government officials, and other dignitaries.
67 -year -old Vijayashankar was a two-time Mysuru MP and former minister of Karnataka and was recently appointed as the governor by President Smt. Droupadi Murmu.
He relieved Phagu Chauhan as the governor of Meghalaya.
