Shillong (Meghalaya), Aug 19: Border Security Force (BSF) in Meghalaya made a significant seizure of 220 bottles of Phensedyl at the International Border of the East Khasi Hills district on Friday.
According to a press release, the smuggled cough syrup, a codeine-based substitute for alcohol, was to be sent Bangladesh.

Since January 2023, BSF Meghalaya seized more than 1300 bottles of Phensedyl while being smuggled through International Border.
The seized bottles were promptly handed over to the relevant authorities for necessary action, added the press release.
