Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 1 : In a swift operation, BSF Meghalaya apprehended four Indian nationals and seized four vehicles loaded with edible items at Ichhamati road in East Khasi Hills district on Monday,Sept 30.
They also seized, approx. ₹10 lakh in cash, sugar and garlic four vehicles including three carrying sugar and one carrying garlic.
The BSF troops acted on specific information regarding a consignment of sugar-laden vehicles traveling to Shella via Ichhamati road towards the bordering area. Upon inquiry, the drivers failed to produce valid documents for transporting such large quantities of sugar and garlic .
The apprehended individuals, seized items, and vehicles were handed over to the Land & Custom Office, Bholaganj.
This successful operation demonstrates BSF Meghalaya’s commitment to curbing smuggling and maintaining national security.
