Shillong ( Meghalaya), Aug 26 : Different organization of Jaintia Hills under the banner of “Ka Sur Ki Nong Jaintia” today strongly condemned the state police for their involvement in the killing of surrendered HNLC leader , C.S Thangkhiew at his residence in Mawlai Kynton Massar in Shillong on Aug 13 last .
“Ka Sur ki Nong Jaiñtia”, which includes the JSU, KSU, HYC, JYF, JSM, MPUF, EJNC, FKJGP and others today took out a “Black Flag Peace Rally” in the two districts of Jaintia Hills protesting the killing of former General Secretary of HNLC, C.S. Thangkhiew.
The protest rally began with a peaceful march upto the Office of the Khliehrait Deputy Commissioner and later converged at the statue of U Kiang Nangbah located near the DC’s Office, where a meeting was held .
The protestors also shouted slogans against the state Government.
In Jowai, the District Headquarters of West Jaintia Hills, meetings were held at Madan Dai Masi in Lad Thalaboh and Lad Kiang Nangbah Government College.
The leaders of the different organizations strongly condemned the government for violating Human Rights.
