Shillong ( Meghalaya ), April 20 : The Civil Defence personnel of Bangladesh Fire Service who recovered the body of driver Lesterson Pathaw of Meghalaya from the waters of Bangladesh on Monday handed the body to the Search and Rescue Team of Meghalaya Fire Service.
The body was handed over to the authorities of Meghalaya after completing all the formalities between the Government of India and Bangladesh.
The vehicle bearing No. ML 09 8175, which was driven by Pathaw while on its way from Tamabil fell into Umngot River before reaching the Dawki Bridge in East Khasi Hills District of Meghalaya, while trying to give way to a BSF vehicle coming from the opposite direction.
This mishap occurred on Thursday last .
Lesterson Pathaw hailed from Nongthliew under Mairang Police Station in Meghalaya’s East Khasi Hills District.
