Shillong (Meghalaya), April 7 : The Achik Youth Welfare Organization (ACYO) today demanded that the names of prominent places written in non-Garo languages in Garo Hills should be corrected immediately.
Speaking to media, the Chief Organising Secretary of AYWO, Tura, Gregory M Marak said the names that have been wrongly spelled and prominently written at the main junctions of Garo Hills have created panic among the community.

He also said the nomenclature of Hawakhana should be replaced by the traditional name Balnangkol, Dermile as Rong’ka a’ding and Araimile as Goanang. aywo.
