Shillong (Meghalaya) , Feb 2 : Police have so far arrested four cadres of banned Hynniewtrep National Liberation Council (HNLC ) for their involvement in the Police Bazar IED blast on Sunday last .
Police sources said these arrests were made during search operations in the houses of the suspects and they were also successful in recovering explosive items from their possession .
Within hours of the blast , East Khasi Hills Police made an early breakthrough by arresting one HNLC cadre who was involved in the blast .
The police who tirelessly put their best efforts by spending sleepless nights were able to trace and eventually arrest the other culprits involved in the blast.
Police arrested three more cadres today , February 2, 2022..
” All the individuals involved in the recent IED blast at Khyndailad have been arrested and further investigation is being carried out by the Police”, CM Conrad Sangma said .
“The four were supporters and sympathizers of the HNLC. We will be very firm and take strict action. Those who intend to spread fear and terror will not be spared,” the CM added.
