Resubelpara (Meghalaya ), Aug 2: Acting swiftly after local residents of Mendal under Bajengdoba police station in North Garo Hills (NGH) informed on the murder of a 27 year old yesterday, police arrested one person for his alleged role in the murder.
The incident took place yesterday, Aug 1.
As per reports, at about 12:30 one Daniel Marak, was found murdered in his ‘Nokpante’ (bachelor house), a little away from his mother’s residence. Marak bore multiple injuries on the neck with his neck literally being severed from his body.
The NGH police rushed to the spot where an inquest was done before the body was sent to Mendipathar for a post mortem. An investigation into the murder was begun yesterday.
Following the sensational murder, police arrested one of the apparent murderers (name being withheld) while efforts are on to nab the others.
“A case has been registered and we have arrested one person. We believe more are involved in the murder and are following leads to find the rest of the group. We believe the murder took place because of an argument though we are still to ascertain the actual facts,” said superintendent of police, NGH, Abraham T Sangma.
