Imphal(Manipur) ,June 30 : In a move to encourage the ongoing vaccination drive carried out at all the 60 Assembly Constituencies of Manipur, the Manipur CM N Biren Singh has announced that a cash reward of Rs 20 Lakhs would be given to the first fully-vaccinated Assembly Constituency.
The announcement was made on Wednesday, while launching Manipur’s first ‘Mobile Vaccinations on Wheel’ or ‘Insulated Vaccinations’ at Khurai Lamlong of Khurai AC in Imphal East District.
This new mobile fully ‘Insulated Vaccination Bus, which was launched today, was donated by the MLA of Khurai AC L Susindro, with the aim to carry out a mobile vaccination drive for his Assembly Constituency Khurai.
Addressing the public, CM N. Biren Singh said that India has started the world’s largest free vaccination drive under the leadership of PM Narendra Modi. He informed that vaccination is the only weapon to fight COVID-19. Stating that people have lost their loved ones due to the pandemic, the Chief Minister urged all the eligible persons to get vaccinated at the earliest to protect against the dreaded disease. Seeking people’s support and cooperation in the fight against COVID-19 disease, he said that we all must maintain Covid Appropriate Behaviour and guidelines issued by the government.
Speaking on the occasion, MLA L. Susindro said that 5 kgs of rice, hand sanitizer and face mask would be provided to all those persons who volunteered themselves for vaccination. People can avail the facility of the mobile vaccination bus at their homes if there are atleast ten persons to be vaccinated, he added. He further said that such service would continue till the constituency is fully vaccinated.
Meanwhile, from Jan 16 till yesterday, from the state’s total population who are eligible to take the vaccine, a total of 647632 has received their jabs out of which 563662 has received their first dose while a total of 83970 received their 2nd Dose.
