Shillong (Meghalaya ) , Sept 21 : 2 more Civid deaths were reported in the state taking the death toll to 38 .
According to official sources , the patients who succumbed to their infections have been identified as Jyotikha Ghosh aged 38 years and hailing from Upper Jail Road area of Shillong . She passed away on Saturday at the Nazareth Hospital here. The other patient who succumbed to her infections has been identified as Jyotimoy Sharma aged 48 years hailing from Tripura . The patient passed away at NEIGRIHMS here in Shillong .
Meanwhile , a total of 73 new cases were detected in the state on Monday taking the total number of cases in the state so far to 4,733.
However , the active cases stand at 2,169 after a total of 2,527 patients have been discharged after recovery .
Among the new cases , 59 cases were reported from East Khasi Hills which includes 53 general public and 6 from the Armed Forces , West Garo Hills reported 12 new cases which includes 8 general public and 4 from Armed Forces .
West Jaintia Hills and North Garo Hills reported 1 case each .
15 patients were declared recovered on Monday .
