Shillong, Oct 6: Nangkiew Irat and Meghalaya Police played out a thrilling 2-2 draw at the SSA Stadium today in the Shillong Premier League 2026.
Everestarly Rynjah struck in the 12th minute and Rapborlang Marwein in the 21st for Police, while Yhoto Lohe equalised instantly in the 13th and Neblejohn Lyngdoh headed in a dramatic 85th-minute leveller for Nangkiew Irat.
It was Nangkiew Irat’s last match of the season and the point takes them to 9 points in eighth place, keeping their survival hopes alive though they are out of the Super Cup race, while Police moved to fifth with 11 points and have a game in hand.
The spotlight now shifts to tomorrow’s title decider at 3 pm where leaders Mawlai face Rangdajied United needing a win for their third SPL title after 2022 and 2023, in a repeat of last season’s heartbreak when the same fixture ended 1-1 and cost Mawlai the trophy.
