Shillong, Sep 21: A youth who drowned in a water body inside a private property at Mawdiangdiang was pulled out by SDRF on Monday afternoon in a swift operation.
The incident happened around noon. On receiving an alert from DDMA East Khasi Hills at 2:24 pm, the 1st SDRF Battalion team from Mawdiangdiang rushed to the spot and reached by 2:35 pm.

Led by Inspector S. Dkhar, the team launched a search and retrieved the body by 3:00 pm in presence of police from Mawdiangdiang OP and the village headman. The body was handed over to police for inquest.
