New Delhi: At least 10 people, including three children, were charred to death when a multi-storey building caught fire in the Palam area of the national capital on Wednesday.
The reason of the inferno has yet to be ascertained, said a senior police official adding that the priority as of now is rescue operation where around 15 people are feared to have been remaining trapped.
Nearly 2 dozen fire tendered were engaged to bring the situation under control.
A team from the Delhi Police has been helping the fire fighter and the authority to evacuate the people and have been ensuring smooth conduct of rescue and security operations. Relief and rescue operations are ongoing, and authorities are closely monitoring the situation as it develops.
There is chance that the death toll is likely to go up since some people with burn injuries have been battling for life.
