New Delhi, March 17: A series of BJP meetings are lined up in New Delhi on Tuesday to fine tune the lit of the candidates for the upcoming Assembly polls slated for April 9. Top BJP leaders are set to hold a high-level meeting in the evening to discuss the names.
Party sources told www.southasiaviews that by this evening, the list would be finalized. But the party’s parliamentary board is all set to meet on Wednesday for final seal of approval. “Once done, by tomorrow, we would be able to clear the entire list,” said a senior party leader in New Delhi.
Chief Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma, his cabinet colleague Piyush Hazarika, MP and state BJP president Dilip Saikia have already arrived here. Union minister Sarbananda Sonowal, who is one of the members of BJP’s parliamentary committee is also set to attend the meeting.
Sources here say only a few sitting MLAs might not be allowed to field this time.
