Jowai (Meghalaya), March 6: In a major breakthrough, Meghalaya Police’s ANTF unit seized ₹51 crore worth of drugs, including 10.145 kg of crystal meth and 203.7 grams of heroin, in Ratacherra. The operation, conducted during a coordinated naka check, led to the detention of two individuals and recovery of the contraband from a Tata Sumo vehicle (MZ-01-M-8625).
Preliminary investigations suggest the individuals are part of an inter-state and cross-border trafficking syndicate. A case is registered at the ANTF police station, with efforts underway to establish forward and backward linkages.
This seizure marks the highest-value NDPS recovery by Meghalaya Police, highlighting the state’s efforts to combat drug trafficking.
