Shillong (Meghalaya), Feb 17: The 4th Edition of the Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup Football Tournament (Men & Women) 2026 got underway today, with the Assam Rifles Women’s Team storming into the lead with a resounding 5-0 win over Laitkor FC.
The tournament, inaugurated by Maj Gen Jai Singh Bainsla, SM, brings together top football clubs from Meghalaya, Assam Rifles, Indian Army, and Meghalaya Police, promising thrilling encounters till February 27.
With a focus on promoting sports, youth engagement, and community bonding, the Sentinels Cup is more than just a tournament – it’s a celebration of unity and the indomitable spirit of the Northeast.
Champions will take home ₹3 lakh and the prestigious Assam Rifles Sentinels Cup Trophy, while runners-up will receive ₹2 lakh.
