Patna, Nov 4 : Meghalaya’s Ranji Trophy Plate Group match against Bihar ended in a draw at the Moin-ul-Haq Stadium today. Meghalaya dominated the proceedings, declaring their innings at 408/7 after a stellar performance with the bat.
Guest player Ajay Duhan scored a maiden century, while Swastic Chettri fell just short of a hundred, scoring 94. The pair’s batting efforts put Meghalaya in a strong position, which they couldn’t relinquish. Bihar managed 156/4 in 25 overs, with Vaibhav Suryavanshi scoring 93 off 67 balls.
The match was affected by rain, which washed out the first two days of play. With only one day left, a result seemed unlikely. Meghalaya’s bowlers, led by Himanshu Singh’s 3/126, restricted Bihar to a below-par score.
Meghalaya will now travel to Surat to face Arunachal Pradesh in their next match on November 8. The draw means Meghalaya will look to regroup and come back stronger in their next outing.
