Shillong (Meghalaya), Oct 28: TMC Vice President, Zenith Sangma, the brother of former Chief Minister Dr. Mukul Sangma has resigned from the Trinamool Congress (TMC) and is set to rejoin the Indian National Congress.

The TMC president, Charles Pyngrope, has accepted Zenith’s resignation, which includes stepping down from the post of Vice President and primary membership of the party.
According to sources, Zenith Sangma will rejoin the Congress on Wednesday in the presence of AICC and Congress leaders, including AICC in-charge A Chellakumar and Meghalaya PCC President Vincent H Pala. This move is seen as a strategic revival for Congress in Garo Hills region ahead of the 2028 Assembly polls.
