Tura (Meghalaya), March 27: Zenith Sangma, leader of the Trinamool Congress, filed his nomination for the forthcoming LS elections from the 2 Tura parliamentary constituency.
Zenith Sangma is the younger brother of Ex CM Dr. Mukul Sangma, who moved from the Congress and joined the TMC just before the 2023 Assembly elections.
AITC Meghalaya tweeted, ” With the blessings & support of the people of Meghalaya, our candidate Shri @Sangma Zenith filed his nomination today in the presence of Dr @mukulsangma former CM, Gov of Meghalaya & Party Leader for 2-Tura (ST) PC. We stand resolute in our commitment to advocate for the welfare of the people of Meghalaya and to usher in the progress and development they rightfully deserve!”
In the 2019 Lok Sabha elections, Former CM, Mukul Sangma secured 41.24 per cent of votes but lost to Agatha K Sangma, sister of Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma.
