Shillong (Meghalaya), Dec 15: As part of the Assam Rifles’ National Integration Tour (NIT) program, aimed at fostering national unity among the youth and providing insight into the rich heritage of the country, as well as various developmental and industry initiatives, 24 girls from Mon district, Nagaland, along with their teachers and escorts, met today with the Governor of Meghalaya, Phagu Chauhan, at Raj Bhavan, here.
In the course of the meeting, the Governor discussed the significance of national integration and highlighted the role young people can play in building a strong and united India. He also encouraged them to pursue their dreams and make the most of their educational opportunities.
The NIT team arrived in Shillong on Dec 13 and is scheduled to depart on Dec 17 . Throughout their visit, they’ve had the chance to immerse themselves in Meghalaya’s rich culture and heritage, gaining insights into various developmental and industry initiatives happening in the state.
