Shillong ( Meghalaya ), Jan 10 : At least half a dozen family members who attended the last rites of musical maestro , Neil Nongkynrih on Saturday here have tested Covid positive .
According to to information available , Late Neil’s eldest sister and her husband have been confirmed to be Covid positive apart some other other family members .
Luckily , his father aged 92 and mother 82 have tested negative .
Shillong Chamber Choir founder and noted music composer Padmashree Neil Nongkynrih died in Mumbai after a surgery on Wednesday .The mortal remains of Neil was brought back to Shillong of Friday early morning after all formalities in Mumbai and his funeral service was held on Saturday .
Meanwhile , the state logged 70 more Covid cases and 2 fatalities on Monday .
According to health department data , 62 new cases were reported from East Khasi Hills , 4 from Ri Bhoi , 2 from West Garo Hills and 1 each from South West Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills .
2 more Covid deaths were reported from East Khasi Hills and West Khasi Hills taking the death toll to 1,487 .
The active cases as of now stand at 448 .
