Shillong(Meghalaya), Dec 8 : E. Lyngdoh, MLA, Mawphlang Constituency today inaugurated the one-day Health Mela Cum Mega Covid Vaccination Drive 2021 organized by Mawphlang CHC in collaboration with Mawphlang C&RD Block at Mawngap, Mawkhar, Mawkharshiing.
The programme was also attended by Ms. I. Laloo, Deputy Commissioner, East Khasi Hills District, Dr. S. Khonglah, DMHO, East Khasi Hills, Dr. A. Lyngdoh, Addl. DMHO, Shri F. Basan, BDO, Mawphlang C&RD Block, Dr. H. Lyngdoh, M&HO, In-charge Mawphlang CHC, L. Blah, President, Seng Khasi Mawngap among others.
In his brief speech, Lyngdoh reminded the people that health is wealth and opined that health can be maintained through cleanliness in our daily habits and by keeping our surroundings clean. While lauding the Health department for organizing this health Mela, Shri Lyngdoh also commended the services rendered by ASHAs of Mawphlang areas particularly during the pandemic.
DC, Ms . I. Laloo in her speech urged upon the people to come forward to get themselves vaccinated in view of the COVID-19 pandemic and seek the cooperation of all concerned to fully vaccinated of all the people.
In the Mela, there are Aadhaar and MHIS registration counters besides COVID-19 vaccination, immunization, NCD screening and exhibition. Short skit on COVID-19 and vaccination was also presented by State IEC team.
