Imphal(Manipur), May 14 :Manipur recorded the highest single day spike with 726 new COVID-19 positive cases. Active cases have surged to 5,898 (General Population – 5722 and Central Security Personnel – 176). Out of these 3,552 active cases are in home isolation according to the health department.
The new cases are 716 persons (375 male, 341 female) from the general population and 10 personnel from the Central Armed Police Force (CAPF).
he cumulative number of recovered cases is 31,872 (General Population – 28,363 and Central Security Personnel – 3,509). The recovery rate is 83.16 %.
The positive cases from the general population are from Imphal East (192), Imphal West (290), Thoubal (48). Bishnupur (57), Kakching (33), Ukhrul (9), Churachandpur (49), Chandel (5), Senapati (11),Tamenglong (4), Kangpokpi (5),Noney (11) and Jiribam (2).
In the last 24 hours,16 patients succumbed to their infections They are : aged 35 yrs (female, Churachandpur), 53 yrs ( male, Imphal East), 69 yrs (male, Bishnupur),35 yrs (male, Imphal West), 64 yrs (male, Imphal West), 81 yrs (male. Imphal East), 67 yrs (male, Imphal West), 46 yrs (male, Imphal West), 50 yrs (male, Imphal East), 40 yrs (female, Imphal East), 90 yrs (female, Imphal West), 56 yrs (female, Imphal West), 70 yrs (female, Imphal West), 53 yrs (male, Imphal West),65 yrs (male, Imphal West), and 68 yrs (female, Bishnupur) expired at DH Churachandpur (1), Raj Medicity (1), Shija Hospital (4), JNIMS (4) and RIMS (6) hospital respectively. The death toll has now reached 552.
In the last 24 hours, a total of 1107 D type Oxygen Cylinders and 516 B-type Oxygen cylinders have been made available to different health institutions and health facilities of Manipur, according to the health department.
As per the latest information, 2,96,894 individuals have been vaccinated in the state.
