Guwahati(Assam), May 6 : The surge in the Covid -19 cases in the state continues with 4936 news cases detected in the state on Friday .
Among the new cases , 1353 were reported from Kamrup (Metro) .
The state also saw 46 more Covid -19 patients succumbing to their infections today .
The overall positivity percentage for the day was 8. 04 with a recovery rate of 87. 50 .
Today a 60-bed ICU got operational at Silchar Medical College & Hospital.
The state also received 1 lakh more doses of Covi shield from Serum Inst India for people above 45 years.
The total vaccines availability now stands at 3,25,470.
