Kokrajhar (Assam),Jan 19: Preparations are on in full swing at Green Field Bodofa Nwgwr in here for Union Home Minister Amit Shah’s visit on Jan 24 during the 1st BTR(Bodoland Territorial Region) accord day celebrations .
Shah would be visiting Kokrajhar in connection with the grand celebration of BTR Accord Day from Jan 24 with a four – day programme .
The celebration venue has been prepared in a vast area covering nearly about 700 bighas of land which will be decorated with welcome gates and hoardings to welcome Union Home Minister Amit Shah,chief minister Sarbananda Sonowal & finance minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma.
The celebration is likely to be witnessed by over three lakh of people from different parts of the BTC districts which will mark the signing of the historic BTR accord on Jan 27 2020 after tripartite peace talks between Centre, state and leaders from four factions of NDFB, All Bodo Students Union(ABSU) and United Bodo People’s Organisation(UBPO).
On Tuesday, additional director general of police(ADGP), L R Bishnoi visited the Green Field Bodofa Nwgwr Kokrajhar to take stock about the preparations .
Bishnoi after reaching Kokrajhar in the morning inspected the Helipad site and main venue of the celebrations.
He said over 15 companies of security forces would be deployed on that day which is likely to be attended by around 3 lakh people .
