Kokrajhar (Assam) ,Dec 23: Bodoland Territorial Council Legislative Assembly is all set to witness the conduct the floor test on Thursday following the Gauhati High Courts order for convening composite floor test .
Notably,UPPL BJP and GSP combine had formed the coalition government in BTC with majority of 23 members and UPPL Chief Pramod Boro took oath of office and secrecy on Dec 15 which was administered by chief secretary of Assam under the guidance of Assam Governor.
The floor test has been ordered following BPF filing a writ petition in the Gauhati High Court which was heard on Tuesday.
Necessary arrangements and preparations are complete for the test to be held under strict security deployment in BTC Legislative Assembly hall Bodofa Nwgwr in Kokrajhar.
According to sources ,all elected members from different parties will be participating in the test on Thursday at 10 am.
BPF won 17(later one member joined the BJP),UPPL 12,BJP 9,GSP 1 and Congress 1(later joined the BJP).
BTC chief executive member and UPPL president Pramod Boro said that he was hopeful of a positive result in the BTC floor test and was confident stating that coalition government has adequate numbers of members in their favour .
Addressing the reporters at a press conference held at BTC Secretariat here today ,Boro said that UPPL BJP GSP coalition government is fully prepared to face floor test on Thursday .
He said UPPL led coalition government is already in BTC government, so Hagrama Mohilary’s appeal for regional united forces is not possible now.
He affirmed of that the coalition government is committed to work for people’s welfare and development.
Boro said that this is not time to come forward for united of regional parties in BTAD administration as UPPL BJP GSP parties have already formed the coalition government in BTC council.
Pramod Boro took oath of office and secrecy as CEM along with other nine executive members including deputy chief on Dec 15 last.
Guwahati High Court had ordered for the composite floor test in BTC legislative assembly before Dec 26 and accordingly the flood test would be conducted on Thursday after BPF filing the writ petition in the High Court.
Boro said that the alliance government will be intact with integrity and have majority strength in the BTC Legislative assembly.
He termed BPF president Hagrama Mohilary is an opportunist leader who has always been taking political benefits during the BPF tenure.
He said that UPPL was working for the welfare and development of common masses since it’s inception in the region.
Speaking the reporters today, BPF spokesperson and ex BTC deputy chief Kampa Borgoyary said that his BPF party is ready to face the floor test in the assembly.
He said that the floor test should be held in a democratic manner to elect the CEM,deputy CEM followed by selecting of the speaker and deputy speaker in the house.
He has urged the concerned authorities to conduct the floor test by using secret ballot papers and not by manual hand raising.
Meanwhile, Bodo Sahitya Sabha has urged the two regional parties UPPL and BPF in BTC region to come forward for a united BTC government to work for better welfare and development.
President of Bodo Sahitya Sabha Toren Boro and general secretary Prasanta Boro while addressing a press conference held at RNB Bhawan here today, said that the Sabha always wants peace and integration among the society and both the parties must come forward for unity and integrity. They said that they have sent an appeal letter to both the leaders of UPPL and BPF to unitedly form the BTC government .
Ex MP and president of All India Bodo National League for Bodoland Statehood Sansuma Khunggur Bwiswmuthiary also appealed to all regional parties to be united to form BTC government.
Bwiswmuthiary said that the regional parties should come forward for regional unity and integrity. He said that the people wants an integrated and united force of regional parties in the BTAD region.
