Guwahati (Assam), July 10 : 3 more critically ill Covid patients passed away at the ICU of Guwahati Medical College Hospital on Friday evening taking the death toll to 35.
According to official sources , the patients who were critically ill succumbed to their infections . The patents have been identified as Ashok Jain aged 63 years ,Vinod Kumar aged 47 years and Dipali Dutta aged 65 years .
With this the total number of deaths due to Covid in Guwahati has gone to 8 on Friday .
All the three patients had severe pneumonia and were on invasive ventilation.
Earlier in the afternoon an Assam police personnel Hav. Hareswar Nath of 16 IRBn died at the IIT Covid Centre here . Nath had no existing health problems and died after his oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed .
Health Minister , Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , “Sad & anguished to inform that 3 #COVID patients – Sri Ashok Jain (63) of Athgaon, Sri Vinod Kumar (47) of Jalukbari & Mrs Dipali Dutta (65) of Sarumataria admitted at GMCH succumbed to their infection today. They had severe pnuemonia & were on invasive ventilation.Condolences!”
