Guwahati (Assam) , July 10 : Guwahati has been seeing a sudden surge in Covid deaths in the past three days even as hundreds of fresh cases are being detected daily .
This afternoon one Covid patient without any symptoms and with no existing health problems died at a Covid care centre here after his oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed .
According to official sources , 53 – year old Hareswar Nath succumbed to Covid 19 at IIT Covid centre this afternoon .
Confirming the incident , Health Minister Himanta Biswa Sarma tweeted , ” With a heavy heart I inform you that Shri Hareswar Nath, 53 years old, a non-symptomatic patient with no co morbidities succumbed to COVID 19 at IITG COVID care centre. His oxygen levels plummeted to 90 within hours and he collapsed.My deepest condolences to his family. RIP🙏🙏”.
