Kokrajhar (Assam ), Dec 30: In a groundbreaking move, Assam Governor Lakshman Prasad Acharya launched the Community Vision Document for the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR) on Monday, marking a significant milestone in the region’s history. This pioneering initiative aims to unite 26 communities in the Bodoland region, promoting integration and tranquility among them.
The launch event, held at the ITA centre in Machkowa, Guwahati, was attended by prominent figures, including Assam Legislative Assembly Speaker Biswajit Daimary and Pramod Boro. The Community Vision Document is a key component of the Bodoland Happiness Mission, which seeks to address the aspirations of the region’s diverse communities.
The document outlines a blueprint for sustainable peace, healing, and inclusive development in BTR, following decades of conflict and violence. This initiative is also a significant step towards implementing the 2020 Bodoland Peace Accord, which paved the way for a new era of peace and development in the region.
