Guwahati (Assam) , June 29 : The 15 -day lockdown is almost total in all parts of the city which started from Sunday midnight . Majority of the roads wear a deserted look with people of the city deciding not to venture out .
Earlier , state health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma had expressed displeasure with the attitude of the general people of city for not following the basic guidelines to prevent the spread of Covid -19 in the state which resulted in massive spike of Covid cases in the capital city.
The Guwahati police are using five drones for surveillance to ensure implementation of the lockdown in totality in the city .
The five drones are keeping a close watch in sensitive areas like Panbazar, Fancy Bazar , of the city, to ensure that there is no violation .
There has also been strong deployment of police across the city to ensure that there is no violation of the lockdown .
