Guwahati(Assam), Jan 17 : The state on Monday, Janauary 17, recorded the highest single-day surge in COVID cases ever since the onset of the pandemic.
The state logged nearly 6982 new COVID cases and 11 more deaths on Monday with the positivity rate at 10. 75 percent .
The results were arrived at after conducting 64,919 tests .

Among the new cases, 1491 have been detected from Kamrup (Mtero ) which includes Guwahati city.
11 patients also succumbed to their infections in the past 24 hours .
The recovery rate now stands at 95.18%.
