Dimapur (Nagaland) , Oct 14 : Working Committee, Naga National Political Groups (WC NNPGS) has clarified that the integration between the Government of India (GoI) and the former, Naga National Flag and constitution are the “unresolved matters”.
Convener, WC NNPGs, N Kitovi Zhimomi, in his message to the Nagas, said that Government of India has been categorically briefed about the historical, cultural, and spiritual aspect of the Naga flag which is too dear to the Naga people.
He conveyed that the government of India would not object the use of the Naga flag for cultural purposes and in customary institutions as far as Naga integrations.
As far as Naga integration issue is concerned, Zhimomi said that it is the legitimate rights and aspirations of all the Nagas and they would pursue it democratically “post solution”.
He also clarified that that Naga political issue is not a “commercial enterprise” under monopoly of N Kitovi Zhimomi, Th. Muivah, Neiphiu Rio, Y Patton or TR Zeliang.
Taking a jibe at the Naga leaders today, Zhimomi said that many had developed “eccentricity”, a sense of personal ownership of Indo-Naga political issue at the cause of Naga people.
He said that the WC NNPGs had chosen to be practical and transparent with the Naga tribes and with the government of India.
Zhimomi maintained that Naga political talks shouldn’t be kept as “classified documents” and added that its “Agreed Position” signed with the Indian government has been made available to the stakeholders.
He later went on to add that its ongoing “formal and informal” deliberations with the Indian government’s representative on Naga talks AK Mishra would be defined by respect for each other.
