Shillong ( Meghalaya), April 6 : Acting on specific tip-off,onThursday , 5 April’ 2023 troops of 4 Bn BSF Meghalaya in a joint operation with sister agency apprehended 2 Bangladeshi nationals namely Rahul Amin (37 yrs) a Bangladeshi tout resident of district- Sylhet and Md Abdul Kasim (36 yrs) resident of district- Sunamganj, near Dawki bridge in bordering area of West Jaintia Hills. An FIR was lodged and both were handed over to PS- Dawki for further legal action. .
The duo illegally entered India with an intention to reside in mainland and assist Bangladeshi nationals to cross over to India. Based on revelation of apprehended Bangladeshi national Rahul Amin, he was proceeding to Guwahati to receive 3 Bangladeshi nationals who were coming from Jammu & Kashmir by Train.
Based on this, BSF shared information with GRP Guwahati and all three Bangladeshi nationals have been apprehended at Guwahati Railway Station.
