Tura ( Meghalaya ), July 27: Four more persons were arrested today in connection with the mob attack on the CM’s Secretariat in Tura on Thursday taking the total number of arrested persons to 46 .
Highly placed police sources said that they have arrested a total of four more people today for their direct or in – direct involvement in the Tura CMO mob attack.
While the first arrested person was identified as Rakmen G Momin. The other three has been identified as Kezar Marak, Tengsrang , A Sangma and Jericho Marak who were rounded up today for their involvement in the mob attack.
West Garo Hills Police has arrested a total of 46 individuals so far, including some members of political parties and others for their social media posts instigating the mob and were directly or indirectly involve in the mob attack on the CMO , Tura .
According to police the total number of arrests as of today, July 27, stands at 46 out which 39 are males and 7 females.
West Garo Hills Police had earlier arrested eight BJP workers and 13 TMC workers. Prominent among them being TMC leader Richard M. Marak. NPP worker Jackson A. Sangma who was present during the meeting between the CM and the two groups on July 24 was also arrested for inciting the mob.
Police sources said that the attack on Tura CMO was a pre -planned move aimed at causing harm to the Chief Minister , Conrad A Sangma .
