Shillong (Meghalaya), May 6: The Directorate of Civil Defence and Home Guards, will conduct a statewide mock exercise on Air Raid Precaution measures on Wednesday, May 7, 2025. The exercise is aimed at testing preparedness and ensuring public safety.
As part of the drill, the Air Raid siren will be sounded at 6:30 PM, followed by a brief “Black-Out” exercise, which includes a 2-minute power shutdown. The exercise will commence from 4 pm onwards.
This will be a mock exercise and not a real emergency. Citizens are requested not to panic and cooperate with the authorities during the drill.
According to Senior Staff Officer & Addl. PRO, PH Shylla, the exercise is an essential part of disaster preparedness and will help in ensuring the safety of the public.
