Shillong(Meghalaya), July 10 : The Polo Shopping Complex was inaugurated today by Union Finance and Corporate Affairs Minister, Nirmala Sitharaman. The ceremony was attended by Chief Minister Conrad K Sangma and other senior leaders, highlighting the strong collaboration between the Centre and the State.
The ₹100.33 crore complex, spread over 9,686 sq. m., is a flagship project under the Shillong Smart City Mission. It aims to revitalize Shillong’s commercial core, ensuring accessibility, sustainability, and economic opportunity. The complex is expected to serve as a modern retail and community space, enhancing the overall quality of life for the residents of Shillong.
The inauguration marks a key milestone in Meghalaya’s urban transformation journey, with the project expected to boost the local economy and provide employment opportunities. The complex is set to become a major hub for commercial activity, catering to the needs of the growing population in Shillong.
