Chandigarh (Punjab), April 18 : After the state government decided to support the medical treatment of ASP, Ludhiana Anil Kohli by conducting plasma therapy who has tested positive a few days ago and was crtically ill , he passed away today before the vital therapy could be conducted .
The treatment was supposed to inject 52 – year old Kohli with plasma from people who have recovered from the infection, and whose bodies have, therefore, generated the antibodies required to fight the virus.
The family of the ACP, who is admitted in the Apollo hospital and was on ventilator for the past several days, had given permission for the plasma therapy, for which the director of health services was coordinating efforts to get potential plasma donors.
