Shillong ( Meghalaya), April 5 : National Health Mission,(NHRM) has initiated the Rationalization of remuneration of all Service Delivery Staff under the National Health Mission.
Currently under NHM, staff with similar qualifications and years of service are drawing different amounts of remuneration. This can be attributed to the merger and dissolution of various Vertical Programmes Societies in the Health Sector since 2016.
Under the process of Rationalization, the National Health Mission aims to correct the disparities in remuneration of all staff by categorizing the respective staff under fifteen categories with respective Basic Pay.
Staff under each category will receive the 5% yearly increment against the years of service under National Health Mission. The O/o Mission Director has notified on Feb 27 this year , that the exercise of rationalization will be completed by end of June as the views, comments and recommendations have been requested from all concerned staff via google form.
As on April 4 a total of 543 responses have been received and is currently being examined in order to ensure accurate formulation and smooth transition into the new pay structure.
On drafting the final draft within the permitted Resource Envelope approved by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare, Government of India, the matter will be taken up with the Governing Body, State Health Society, Meghalaya for final approval.
Similar issue had existed in the Programme Management Unit which consists of 384 staff and the exercise of Rationalization was completed and approved in September 2021. Under Service Delivery the National Health Mission consists of 1984 staff.
Due to the third wave of COVID-19 in the State and other exigencies, the exercise of Rationalization for Service Delivery Staff was delayed.
