Dimapur(Nagaland), Feb 16 : The two -day Nagaland Blind Football (NBF) demonstration and training camp ended here at Don Bosco Higher Secondary School grounds today.
The camp was organised by the State Disability Forum and Prodigals Home in collaboration with the Indian Blind Football Federation.
On the concluding day today a blind football match was organised between Tura and Shillong teams . In the keenly contested match Shillong team defeated Tura by a solitary goal .
Deputy Commissioner , Dimapur Anoop Khinchi attended the closing ceremony the Chief guest. While encouraging the gathering to understand the rights of disability , the DC appealed the gathering to work together to remove the barriers physically challenged people and encourage them to lead a normal life .
The Chief Guest stressed on the importance of sports like football which helps in mental and physical growth.
Indian Blind Football Federation (IBFF) Sports Director Sunil J Mathew said that NE is blessed with talent as far as football in concerned .
During the closing ceremony prayer service was conducted by the Convention Baptist Church, Dimapur pastor Yabang Longkumer apart from songs by blind boys/girls and Thahekhu Baptist church. Certificates were also distributed during the closing ceremony to all the participants.
