Shillong(Meghalaya), Dec 21 : In a thrilling finale, St. Cecilia Choir took home the top honors and a cash prize of ₹50,000 at the ‘Jingle All the Way’ Christmas Carol Singing Competition, organized by Big FM and JBL at Anton Hall at Laitumkhrah here.
The choir’s unique blend of western and indigenous styles mesmerized the audience and judges alike, as they performed a captivating 7-minute medley of ‘Go Tell It On The Mountain’, ‘Little Drumper’, and ‘Ha Jingkynjah Ka Miet’. The seamless fusion of western musical instruments with traditional ones like the Ka Duitara and Ka Bom left the crowd in awe.
The audience’s thunderous applause earned the choir a well-deserved standing ovation, and they were compelled to perform an encore. The choir happily obliged, incorporating more traditional carols into their set.
