Tura (Meghalaya ) , July 24 : A mob of more than a thousand gathered at CMs office in Tura while CM Conrad Sangma was having a peaceful discussion with agitating organizations for over 3 hours here.
According to reports, while the meeting was on, thousands of people gathered at the CMO Tura and started pelting stones.
In order to control the mob, police had to fire tear gas shells to disburse the crowd.
Five security personnel sustained injuries during pelting of stones by the miscreants.
The CM met ACHIK, GHSMC and other organizations spearheading the hunger strike at CMO Tura., while another group of civil bodies were called to the Circuit House.
CM has invited all protesting organization to come for a detailed discussion on winter capital and job reservation in presence of other cabinet ministers and stakeholders in Shillong tentatively on Aug 8 or 9 and appealed the protesting organization to call off their strike and come forward for discussion.
Meanwhile, CM Conrad Sangma & PHE minister are overseeing the situation at the CMO Tura .
