Shillong(Meghalaya), Nov 26 : Satya Pal Malik, Governor of Meghalaya today visited Sohra.
On arrival at the Circuit House, he took the Guard of Honour in the presence of the officials of Sohra Civil Sub-Division.
During the visit, he had a brief interaction with the officials of Sohra Civil Sub-Division.
A. S. Mukhim, MCS, Sub-Divisional Officer (C), Sohra Civil Sub-Division gave a short briefing and apprised the Governor on the formation of the Sohra Civil Sub-Division, the number of Blocks, its population and literacy rate, which stand at 74%.
He also apprised the Governor on the status of primary education, the centrally sponsored schemes and the different livelihoods activities carried out by the people in the area and the different varieties of flora and fauna found under the Sohra Civil Sub-Division.
Later in the day, the Governor visited Ramakrishna Mission, Sohra and had an interaction with the students.
