Imphal (Manipur), May 27 : Due to landslides between Nungba & Rengpang along NH-37 (Imphal-Jiribam Road), vehicles on both the sides are stranded since morning today . Efforts are being made to clear-out the debris by the NHIDCL and Noney police teams from Noney have rushed to the spot.
A police team rushed to landslide spot with Excavator (JCB) to clear the landslide area. Meanwhile, trains from Bangaluru carrying stranded Manipuris already reached Jiribam railways station this morning. The train from Kerala to Jiribam will be reach late at Jiribam as there is a news of landslide between Lumding and Badarpur.
Two special trains from Hyderabad and Goa reached Jiribam railway station on Tuesday .The train from Hyderabad brought 252 State natives and arrived at Jiribam at 8.00 am on Tuesday and it was the 12th train which brought back stranded Manipuris outside the state .
The 252 passengers includes 130 males, 115 females and seven children.As usual, they got down from the train in district-wise manner. After completion of screening and other procedures, the passengers were sent to their respective districts.
